Often there is a big life shift, it feels like the ground below you is open, and there are many paths to take. There are many decisions in your path. How do we find the middle path?

When I moved to Albuquerque a few months ago, I was already borderline burnt out (more honestly I was burnt out) from life in Colorado and work on the Navajo Reservation responding to the COVID Pandemic. I immediately jump from one job to another, compounded with studying for my certification for pelvic floor rehabilitation. Add a layer of Kayla having an increased frequency of seizures, my life just feels incredibly, well for a lack of a better word, exhausting. I feel like I am stuck at the bottom of a canyon with no way out.

However, like being stuck in the canyon, there are often positives and gifts that nature provides. We have had a few answers for Kayla’s increased frequency of seizures, which was old scar tissue. We were provided with a new medication that is for focal seizures, and has given her more control of her, what was once an out of control body for the last month plus. She still has an MRI pending to rule out anything else, but we are in a good place with her medically again. There is a turbulence that arises when your child is ill.

Another place in which despite the turbulence, I was able to ride the wave. I passed my certification exam, despite juggling medical appointments for Kayla and tears of seeing your child not have the life they deserve. Yes, the extra letters that will be in my title are a nice reminder that I have the knowledge basis, when treating specialized populations, but also, increased knowledge and skills when caring from my general patient population.

My life currently feels like it is in limbo. I have many things that I want to manifest in my life, and so many paths I want to walk. I will try to find the middle path, looking for the balance that I crave.
